Tamiya 1/35 Scale Mesozoic Creatures/ Age of Reptiles Model Kit

£12.99

Tamiya 60107 – 1:35 Mesozoic Creatures/ Age of Reptiles During the Mesozoic, or “Middle Life” Era, life diversified rapidly and giant reptiles, dinosaurs and other monstrous beasts roamed the Earth. The period, which spans from about 252 million years ago to about 66 million years ago, was also known as the age of reptiles. The Mesozoic Era had a lot of “firsts”. For example, it is thought to have had the first birds, first mammals, first dinosaurs and first flowering plants. Not only was this a significant era for evolution, but also for climate and tectonic activity. Pangaea started rifting into separate continents from one giant landmass. And Earth’s climate was dry. Though opinions vary, it’s believed to have had its highest oxygen levels in history.  When Earth’s climate became hotter and drier, rainforests began to collapse. Deserts swept the land and left islands of forests. Reptiles were different because they could lay their hard-shelled eggs on land. By cutting ties with the ocean, reptiles adapted to life on land. Reptiles gained an ecological advantage because they had less competition for food in dryland conditions. This triggered the start of the age of reptiles. This Diorama Set includes: 1x Infant Parasaurolophus 1x Oviraptor 1x Hypsilophodon 1x Crocodylia 1x Infant Tyrannosaurus 1x Archaeopteryx. 4x Diorama Scenic Bases (the Parasaurolophus and Crocodylia are free-standing) Tamiya's dinosaur kits have been scaled from scientific data to ensure they are as accurate as possible. Perfect for a multitude of uses from display to wargaming. This Tamiya Diorama Set will require paints and glue to complete.
