Metal Earth USS Arizona  2 Sheet Steel Model Kit Assembly Required Assembled Size: 137 x 24 x 50mm Difficulty Level: Moderate Suitable for ages 14+ These amazingly detailed models start as a 4” (100mm) square steel sheets and finish as amazing 3D models. Use the easy to follow instructions to pop the pieces, bend the tabs, and connect them at the attachment points. Easy and fast to assemble. No Glue or Solder needed Simply pop out the pieces by hand or with the aid of wire cutters. Then connect each piece at the attachment points according to the easy to follow instruction sheet included with each model. This can be accomplished by hand or facilitated by using needle nose pliers. Great for ages 14 years old and up. From Steel Sheets to Museum Quality  The second, and last, of the Pennsylvania-class “super-dreadnought” battleships, the USS Arizona was built by, and for, the US Navy in the 1914. It was commissioned in 1916, though remained stateside during World War I. The Arizona was regularly used for training exercises, was sent to California in 1933 to provide aid for an earthquake that struck the Long Beach area, and was also featured in the 1935 film, Here Comes the Navy, starring Jimmy Cagney. She was transferred to Pearl Harbor in 1940, along with the rest of the Pacific Fleet, in an attempt at deterring Japanese imperialism. The morning of December 7, 1941, the Arizona was sunk during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The majority of her bulk still lies in Pearl Harbor, and a memorial to the USS Arizona and those who died during the attack was dedicated as the USS Arizona Memorial, May 30th, 1962. No tools are required to build any of our Metal Earth Models however assembly may be easier with the following tools:   Hobbies Straight and Curved Tweezers (HOB28)This 2 pack of tweezers are ideal for reaching into awkward areas, then picking, holding and placing very small parts and components with great accuracy. Sprue and Plastic Cutter (PPL6703) For helping to remove parts from the metal sprue. Ideal for making small cuts in plastic and metal sprues and other general hobby and craft applications. Metal Earth Solar Powered Spinner Display (TAS082400) A solar powered revolving acrylic platform. No batteries and requires very little light. The 3.5′ diameter rotating disc is the perfect size to display Metal Earth laser cut models, gemstones, jewellery and more.
