Released in May 1967, ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ spent an astonishing 27 weeks at the top of the UK’s Record Retailer chart. Their eighth studio album, it is seen as a distinct shift in sound compared to their earlier work, featuring such much loved tracks as ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’, ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’ and ‘When I’m Sixty Four’ in addition to the title track.
