OcCre’s impressive model of a London Double-Decker Tramway c. 1903. is a 1:24 scale G-45 (45mm) gauge wood and metal kit containing all the parts necessary for making an accurate replica. Laser cut wooden parts make up the body, interior and top deck and individual lime wood strips cover the floors. Wheels and axles, springs and bushes, brakes, bumper supports and stops, headlight, lamps and other small parts are precision cast white metal. Wooden benches with metal supports accommodate the passengers. Brass wire is used for handrails and window bars. Transparent windows, colourful decals for signage- even miniature advertising posters complete an authentically detailed model. Photographic instruction booklet makes building easy. Dimensions (approx): Length 355mm Width – 93mm Overall Height 257mm Scale 1:24 Gauge G-45 (45mm)  This tram car was built in April 1903 by the company Electric Railway and Tramway Carriage Works. It was one of the hundred B Class vehicles ordered by the London County Council. With number 106 this car was used as a passenger transit vehicle up until 1925, when it was converted into a snowbroom and given the number 022. En 1983, 106 was taken to the Crich Village National Tramway Museum, in Derbyshire, where it remains to this day, having covered over 10,000 miles transporting passengers. It was originally powered by Dick Kerr motors, type DK25A, providing 25 hp, which were replaced in 1927 by Westinghouse motors, type 220, providing 42 hp. It was originally fitted with handbrakes on the wheels and rheostatic braking through the motors. In 1908 magnetic track brakes were fitted. Please note the display base is sold separately.
