Roden 1/32 Scale British Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter WWI Comic Fighter, 1917/18 Model Kit The Sopwith Strutter is a British single-engine fighter-bomber or reconnaissance biplane with a mixed design. The crew consisted of two people: a pilot and an observer. The prototype flight took place in April 1916 and the machine quickly entered mass production. Various versions of Clerget and Le Rhone rotary motors with power from 80 to 130HP were installed on machines of this type. The plane was very popular and liked by pilots. The Strutter made history as the first Allied aircraft to use a machine gun synchroniser.    Markings: Sopwith 1½ Strutter “Comic Fighter” W/n B’762, No.78(HD) Sqn RFC, based at Martlesham Heath during summer-autumn 1917 and reallocated to Home Defence on August 1917. This aircraft haven’t individual pilot and used by all pilots of 78 Squadron. Sopwith 1½ Strutter “Comic Fighter” (Hooper-built) w/n A’6906, No.78(HD) Sqn RFC, based at Suttons Farm, flown by Lt. J S Castle, December   Paints and glue are required to complete this model kit. Not included. Available separately.
